The new newly formed Navan Senior Women's J1/2nd XV had a squad of 20 players to go on the road to play Louth County, but unfortunately the game was conceded by Louth County.
The team however were able to get a fixture against Virginia RFC. This was part of the launch of the biodiversity training areas and family fun day in Virginia RFC. Navan were delighted to take part in the occasion.
It was a very tough game. Virginia RFC had a very good start but this didn't stop Navan who came back. 𝗥𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 had an incredible game from inside centre, carrying hard and hitting everything that moved. 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗵 𝗢'𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻 in her first ever match proved to be incredibly strong in contact, never taking a backward step! 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗞𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘆 got over the white wash twice during the game, leading the way for the team to follow. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗵 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘀 got her name on the scoresheet also, converting a try. Another incredible first cap was 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗻, who chased down a certain try for Virginia with a never say die attitude.
The result didn't go our way with Virginia came out on top winning 27-12.
𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘀: Anna Mennis, Tara Quinn, Sarah O' Brien, Jess Moriarty, Eloise Newman, Marlene Wisniewska
Looking forward to our first home League match v Birr in Navan Sunday 24th of September, 1pm.
