battled hard to claim both a losing and try bonus point in a match that saw late drama and strong second-half resilience.

Galwegians struck first, breaking the deadlock after 16 minutes with a try in the right corner. Navan responded ten minutes later when Declan O’Connor crossed in the left corner, though the difficult conversion attempt fell short in the strong breeze. However, Galwegians immediately hit back with a converted try off the post to restore their advantage.

The visitors struck again on 31 minutes, breaking from the 22m line to score under the posts, with the conversion extending their lead.

Navan came out with renewed intensity in the second half, looking to turn the tide. The home sides forward pressure soon paid off as Galwegians’ discipline wavered. The visitors conceded a penalty try after collapsing a powerful Navan maul underneath the posts, prompting the referee to award the score and issue a second yellow card. Despite the numerical advantage, Galwegians capitalized on their opportunities, scoring two more tries—one on 63 minutes near the goal line and another in the left corner on 72 minutes.

Navan refused to go down without a fight. In the final moments, Max McKenna crossed for two well-taken tries, both converted by Philip Smyth, ensuring Navan secured a crucial losing and try bonus point.

While the result leaves Navan fourth in the Leinster JP Fanagan Premier 2 Super Six standings, the fightback in the closing stages keeps them in contention as they push for a strong finish to the campaign.
