Congratulations to Navan RFC’s Harry Waters, who has been selected to make his debut for the Ireland Under-18 Schools team in their opening fixture of the 2025 U-18 Men’s International Series in Cape Town, South Africa.
Waters, a standout from Navan RFC’s Senior Men’s 1st XV, will start on the right wing in Ireland’s first match against the South Africa U-18 ‘A’ side tomorrow, Friday, August 8th. The game kicks off at 11:30am local time (10:30am Irish time) and will be played at Durbanville High School.
The Ireland U-18 Schools team, coached by Michael Hodge, will face off against South Africa U-18 ‘A’, South Africa U-18, and Georgia U-18 across three match days as part of the six-team series.
This latest international honour caps a remarkable year for Waters, whose recent achievements include:
- 🟢 Representing Ireland U-18 Boys Club/Youths in 2024
- 🟦 Making his Energia All-Ireland League debut for Navan RFC Men’s 1st XV
- 🏆 Named Navan RFC Senior Men’s “Young Player of the Year” for the 2024/25 season
- ⭐ Selected in the 2025 DkIT Future Stars of Rugby Men’s XV, recognising rising talent in the Leinster North-East region
