In a day of firsts for Navan RFC, they fielded their third women's senior team, the J2's, in Leinster League Division 5/6 against a strong first XV of Lansdowne. Graduating from Youth Rugby today was Mia Kavanagh and Kym McGrath with a first Navan RFC cap for Rebecca Lowry.
Leading from the front was captain Ger Lynch who gave go forward ball to the team leading by example. Niamh Yourell was dynamic around the park and really stepped throughout the 80 minutes. Sarah White, in her new position of out half, moved the pack and assisted the back line in directing them around the pitch. Tries were scored today by Niamh Yourell and Alanna Caffrey.
Today's performance was a testament to all the hard work put in by all the players over the past 10 weeks of preseason.
Player of the Match “Sponsored by The Central”: Mia Kavanagh, on her senior debut and a last-minute starter due to an injury in the warm-up! A natural fit to senior rugby for this talented 18 year old
