Navan RFC had their first outing in Division 1 against a very strong well drilled New Ross team away. Navan were slow to start and went into the break seven nil down despite having a lot of possession in the New Ross 22.
Navan will be much happier with their second half performance. The set piece for Navan was incredibly effective the line out and scrums were providing a platform for the backs, testament to their hard work. Three second half tries from the backs Alex Connor, Anna Bolger and Michelle Claffey converted by Anna McGarry meant Navan came away with a well earned losing bonus point.
Navan will take great positives from their first day out in the Leinster league premier division, with four starting debutantes for Navans' first team.
